AFE ATLANTA CHAPTER 42

Association for Facilities Engineering

HOW WORKS

MEMBERSHIP

What Is the Membership Committee?

The Membership Committee is THE most important committee in the association. This committee is charged with developing the membership and retaining current members. The Vice President of Membership chairs this committee, and is a member of the Executive Committee.

This committee evaluates the state of membership, from the raw numbers to the numbers of affiliates, students, regular members, and retired members. From these numbers, the committee develops plans to attract new members, such as membership campaigns and member services, such as the insurance program, credit card, and other member benefits. Retention is also reviewed, with the goal of determining where programs can be made stronger in order to maintain member numbers.

This committee is populated with representatives from each region, and regularly enjoys the most attendance at national meetings. Typically, this committee is where members’ voices are heard the most. Thus, this committee will help direct much of the discussion at the other committee meetings and the Board of Directors.

This committee strives to maintain the focus of the organization on the members, and on providing value for the members dues.
