AFE ATLANTA CHAPTER 42

Association for Facilities Engineering

HOW   WORKS

Education and Training Committee

Providing Information to the Members

The Education and Training Committee develops the seminars and conferences. The committee consists of a chairperson who is also a Vice President, and volunteers from the various regions. The Vice President serves on the Board of Directors as a functional VP. Members typically have an interest in education, or are from educational institutions, but are not required to be educators.

This committee does forward planning for Facilities America, including deciding on future locations for the national conference held each fall. Other educational initiatives, such as distance learning, on-line learning, or associations with universities and colleges are developed or promoted through this group.

Oversight of Facilities America includes recommending conference tracks, and even proposing subjects of interest. The committee also has input into the speakers at the conference as well.

The committee works with Membership and Marketing to develop lists of possible speakers that the chapters and regions can contact for their meetings. This committee develops the educational aspects of the organization that are one of the key benefits of belonging to AFE.
