AFE ATLANTA CHAPTER 42

Association for Facilities Engineering

HOW WORKS

Chapter Relations

Helping Chapters Get Stronger

The Chapter Relations committee is composed of volunteer members from each of the regions, usually the region vice president or his chosen replacement. This committee is charged with monitoring issues in the regular operation of chapters, and providing the chapters with tools to improve how they work and develop future leaders in the organization.

Generally, this committee has dealt with the issues of chapter leadership training, getting vendors involved at chapter meetings, and finding speakers and topics for chapter meetings. Maintaining high levels of interest and enthusiasm at the chapter level are critical to AFE's long-term success.

Chapter Relations also works closely with the Membership Committee to implement membership goals and objectives. Likewise, the Membership Committee responds to chapter development issues and member service issues reported by the Chapter Relations committee.

As with the other committees, Chapter Relations works with Marketing & Communications to develop promotional ideas and get the word out about AFE's programs and mission. AFE's strength and future still relies on the ability of chapters and members to promote the profession, and AFE's role in supporting the profession.
