AFE ATLANTA CHAPTER 42

The Atlanta Motor Speedway Tour and Meeting January 2001

The January 2001 Meeting was a tour and meeting at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. 

Chapter President Jim Lohmann presided over the meeting.

There was a great turnout with more than 30 attendees taking a 3-lap ride at 160 mph.

While Jim said he could chauffer some of the attendees, there were no takers!

 There were several  expert NASCAR drivers that provided the rides.

Kent Carpenter gets the helmet on - and gets into the NASCAR car 98.

The car pulls out with a roar and then circles the oval at 160 mph.

Kent gives the "thumbs up" for great ride - says "man, at 160 you really see that wall coming at you in the corners".

The Officers of AFE Atlanta Chapter 42 take tremendous pride in arranging such great events for the membership.
