UPS Roswell GA Facility

This facility is what is referred to in the UPS system as a 15k hub.  This means it has the capacity to process 15,000 packages per hour through its conveyor system.  

There are two sort operations that occur approximately at 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm and 4:00 am to 8:00 am.  During the first operation pickup volume from their daily package drivers' pickups is unloaded and moved to outbound trailers and "through" volume is processed as well.  On the early morning shift they process inbound trailer volume and load the package cars for daily delivery.  There are about 215 delivery routes dispatched daily from this hub and a little over 600 employees work out of the building over an entire day.

United Parcel Service itself is a 94-year-old transportation company that had revenues of $30 billion in 2000.  There are over 80,000 transportation vehicles, 240 planes and 359,000 employees within the organization.  On a typical day, UPS processes approx. 12,000,000 packages throughout its entire network.

  UPS Roswell facility is located 1300 Old Ellis Rd. Directions to the
facility are as follows:

Take 400 north to Mansell Rd. exit.  Take a left onto Mansell Rd and travel to Old Roswell Rd.  Turn right onto Old Roswell.  At three way stop, turn left onto Old Roswell Rd.  At first traffic light turn left onto Old Ellis Rd.

The UPS facility is the first building on the right.
